Kaliati kneeling photo stirs debate on social media

Debate has ensured on social media over photo showing Member of Parliament for Mulanje West Constituency Patricia Kaliati kneeling before chiefs in Luwelezi in Mzimba during the official opening of a girls hostel.

Many people have argued that Kaliati went too far while others have described the gesture as move to score political mileage.

As this is not enough, others have linked the kneeling to the forthcoming tripartite elections saying the gesture is one way of seeking votes from chiefs for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

Kelvin Chikuse wrote: “We are yet to see wina akugula mafuta oyeza mu msika wa Ndirande….. Like we saw that time buying a sofa set when we all pretty know that his entitlement has got a clause which talk about free furniture….”

Concurring with Chikuse’s remarks Diana Chabuka wrote: “Kkkķkk kuberana masana sana uku tchaaaiiiiiii”.

Although is the case, others have hailed Kaliati’s gesture.
