Fugitive murder suspect Misozi Chanthunya to appear in court today

Murder suspect Misozi Chanthunya is expected to appear before the Zomba High Court for for plea and bail ruling today.

Ministry of Justice spokesperson Pilirani Masanjala confirmed of the development in an interview with the press last week.

The Zomba Magistrate Court moved the case to the High Court on 9th March this year, explaining that such courts do not have jurisdiction over murder cases.

Chanthunya is alleged to have murdered his pregnant girlfriend, Linda Gasa in August 2010.

Her body was found buried at a private cottage in Mangochi.
