Mentally Challenged Man Hangs Himself in Mangochi

A 45-year-old man who was mentally challenged has died after hanging himself to a tree in Mangochi district, police has confirmed.

Mangochi police station deputy public relations officer Sergeant Amina Tepani identified the deceased as Imran Adam who died on the morning of Wednesday at Skull Rock Estate Forest in the area of traditional authority Jalasi in the same district.

Danken Kassim, the uncle to the deceased told the police that Adam went missing on the afternoon of June 5.

His relatives instituted a search for him until he was discovered on the next day hanging to a tree at Skull Rock Estate Forest.

Matter was reported to police who visited the scene with medical personnel and took his body for a postmortem that revealed the death was due to suffocation.

The deceased hailed from Malekano village in the area of traditional authority Jalasi in Mnagochi.
