Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) approves Malawi’s second compact

On Thursday, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) board approved Malawi’s eligibility for the second compact.
Through the first compact, MCC injected $350 million towards improvement of the energy sector. The funds went towards rehabilitation and modernisation of Nkula hydro-electric power station and construction of substations like Phombeya and Nkhoma.
