President Peter Mutharika is under pressure from 50-50 campaigners to appoint a gender balanced ministerial cabinet.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that he is expected to appoint his cabinet before the weekend.

In his previous cabinets, the number of women representation was fewer than that of his predecessor, Joyce Banda who appointed more women in her cabinet.
