In Machinga, a 37-year-old man has hanged himself to death after suspecting that his wife was having a secret love affair with another man.
Nkhunga police public relations officer, Sub-inspector Ignatius Esau identified the now deceased as Binalison Mwale who committed the offence on 01 September 2019 at Dwambazi in the district.
“The incident happened followed a quarrel that ensued the previous day where the husband accused his wife of having a secret love affair, a matter which the woman vehemently denied.
“Not satisfied with the reply, the man left home for unknown destination, only to be found hanging dead in the wee hours of the following day in a nearby bush, “Esau said.
Burial was ordered after police and medical personnel visited the scene and according to postmortem, death was due to suffocation.
He hailed from Mwalukila village in the area of T/A Kayembe in Dowa district.
