Grenade Explosion In House Leaves One Dead

ZIMBABWE – A suspected grenade exploded in a house in Silobeka and killed one person on the spot and injured several others, Sunday News reports.

The incident which happened in Dambridge area Mtshogwe Village under Chief Malisa, is believed to have been caused by an object that was picked by one of the children as they played and later on detonated itself killing a 19-year-old boy and injuring others.

ZRP and Kwekwe Civil Protection Unit confirmed the incident to the publication and said:

“It is true, we received reports of a grenade that exploded within a homestead killing a 19-year-old student on the spot.”

Three other family members who were injured were rushed to Silobela Hospital while others were rushed to Gweru Provincial Hospital depending on the magnitude of the injuries
