Police Launch A Manhunt of Suspects Who Tempered With Albino Grave Yard

In Mulanje District -The Police  have initiated a manhunt for people who are suspected to  have tampered with the graveyard of a 2-year-old child with albinism who died in December 2019,Face of Malawi have learned.

In accordance with the district’s police publicist, Gresham Ngwira, the incident was reported to police by passers-by.

 “After visit to the scene,We found out that the casket was intact since it was cemented the same day it was buried in December,”said Ngwira.

Mulanje District Police have since disclosed that right now they are hunting for the people who have tampered with the grave.

“We are asking for well-wishers who can assist us with information that may lead to the arrests of the suspects,’’ said Ngwira.

Report analysis indicates that since 2014, there have been cases of attacks, abduction, and killings of albinos in Malawi in the wake of the rising of superstitions that albino body parts are used to make people successful and rich as assisted by witch doctors.

The belief has stated that most doctors demanding this come from Mozambique although the government there has declined that connection.
