Mzuni’s Prof Fred Msiska Laid to Rest

The remains of Mzuzu University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Fred Msiska who died on January 6, 2020 have been laid to rest.

Msiska died on his way to Blantyre where he was expected to receive specialist treatment at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital.

In his remarks Chancellor for Mzuni Prof. John Saka said Msiska’s death is a huge blow to the university as he (Msiska) has contributed a lot to the growth of the University.

“The University has lost a man who was selfless and very hardworking, this is the same man who had run the university for two years when the university had no vice chancellor,” said Saka.

He added that Msiska will be greatly missed by the university and he shall always part of the University’s history.

Msiska was buried on January 8 at his home village at Khwawa in Karonga district.

He joined the university in May 2007 as the Director of the Center of Open Distance Learning from the University of Malawi’s Chancellor College and was appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor in 2017.

Rest in peace.
