Tractor-Gate Scandal Judgement To Be Delivered Today

Lilongwe High Court is today expected to deliver the judgment on the controversial tractor gate.
Judge Charles Mkandawire is set to deliver the judgment.
Principal secretaries, Grey Nyandule Phiri and Cliff Chiunda belonging to ministry of Agriculture and Finance respectively were convicted for contempt of court.
The two are waiting for their sentences.
Court ordered the two to provide a public apology for the careless purchase and disposal of farm equipment including 177 tractors.
Lawyer for the defendants, Chancy Gondwe applied for cross-examination of Ombudsman Martha Chizuma whose office exposed the rot.
The cross-examination happened on 6th January this year.
