Sex Workers Association Concerned With Lockdown

The Sex workers Association of Malawi has expressed concern that government has proceeded to order a Covid-19 national lockdown without consultations.
Chairperson of the association, Zinenani Majawa, confirmed the development.
The sex workers are worried that the order will negatively affect livelihoods and plead for a review and reversal of the decision.
On Tuesday, Minister of Health Jappie Mhango announced that the country will go into a 21 day lockdown as a response to fight Covid-19.
Mhango added that the decision has been made to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
According to Mhango, the lockdown will take effect on Saturday, April 18 midnight and will end on May 9 Midnight with possible chances of extending the lockdown.
