Malawi Prison Service junior staff are staging a sit-in to force government provide risk allowances in the wake of Covid-19.

The strike of Prison Junior staff comes barely days after a national wide strike by nurses, Doctors and Midwives in public hospitals who were demanding an increase in risk allowances.

According to information at hand, the warders are also demanding unconditional promotions.

The striking officers have blocked all roads leading to the prison officers.
