Mzuzu registers third COVID-19 case

Malawi’s confirmed Covid-19 cases have risen to 39. It follows the confirmation of yet another case at the Mzuzu Central Hospital laboratory in Mzuzu on Sunday.

The development has pushed the number of Covid 19 cases in Mzuzu city to three, and four in the northern region.

Addressing Jornalists on Sunday afternoon at the Capitol Hill in Lilongwe, Minister of Health Jappie Mhango said the latest to test positive for the coronavirus “is a 20 year old female who stays at Mzilawaingwe township in Mzuzu”.

“She is asymptomatic. She has no recent travel history,” added Mhango.

The case in Mzuzu provides testimony of on – going local transmission for the pandemic in the country.
