Chiefs in Blantyre demand for peaceful campaign ahead of fresh presidential elections

Some chiefs in Blantyre have demanded peaceful campaign ahead of the fresh Presidential elections on July 2.
The traditional leaders have also denounced registration of children as adults with the National registration Bereau  (NRB) to enable them register as voters.
One of them, Chief Chilobwe, notes that it is both illegal and unfair to the children to have them registered as adults for selfish political reasons.
Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah opened the campaign on Saturday, 02 May.
Since the launched, violence has been spotted with members of different political parties insulting and petrol bombing each others property.
