Occultist Rapes Woman To Rid Her Of ‘Negative Energy’

In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old married woman, who displayed ‘aggressive’ behaviour was taken to an occultist who allegedly raped her for “ridding her of negative energy” in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida on Monday morning

The affected woman’s husband approached the Rabupura Police and lodged a complaint against the accused occultist, identified as Pappan.

A medical examination for the affected woman has been ordered by the police. The complainant said that he got married to his wife in February this year.

Since the beginning of their marital union, the things were not alright. On frequent occasions, his wife became “aggressive” and then some “unexplained things” started happening in their house. He felt that his wife was possessed by some spirit. So, they planned to see the occultist seek help.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the accused visited the affected woman’s matrimonial house around four days ago and asked her husband to bring her to his village. Also, he took Rs 5,000 from them.

Then, at around 11 am on Monday, the couple went to the occultist’s village. The husband told HT,

“He (the occultist) took us to a field nearby and asked us to taste some ash, which was probably laced with a sedative. Both I and my wife lost consciousness after that.”

Upon regaining consciousness, the woman realized that she had been sexually assaulted and told her husband about it.

On being confronted by the husband, the occultists threatened to kill them, following which they decided to file a police complaint against him.

Based on the husband’s complaint, police have booked the accused under IPC sections 376 (rape) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).

A search has been launched to nab him and further investigation into the matter is underway.
