Gvt to adopt electronic tracking system in selling affordable fertilizer and farm inputs

The government has announced that it will adopt an electronic tracking system in selling affordable fertilizer and farm inputs to smallholder farmers.
The tracking system will enable the government to know who has already purchased fertilizer and farm inputs to ensure that nobody is buying it many times mostly vendors who buy at lower prices and sell on higher prices.
Making his provisional budget statement, newly appointed Finance Minister, Felix Mlusu disclosed that they have set aside funds to reach out to smallholder farmers with cheap farm inputs.
At least 3.5 million growers will be able to procure fertiliser a price of K4,495 , as provided for in this four month financial blue print.
