Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor for Bangwe Mthandizi Ward Isaac Jomo Osman has accused former Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Charles Mchacha of suppressing party members by, among others, silencing them.
Osman said this during a post-election “garage meeting” held at the Party’s Regional Office in Blantyre today.
In his speech, Osman said the conduct of Mchacha contributed positively to downfall of the Party in the fresh polls.
Osman also hinted that he has the information that Mchacha want he want to resign as regional governor for the South, saying he should do so as soon as possible.
But Osman’s remarks angered Mchacha.
Mchacha described Osman as a useless man who has nothing to offer to the party.
It took the intervention of Gerald Lipikwe, Councillor for Limbe Ward to calm down the situation at the DPP’s regional office.
When asked to comment on the matter, Party spokesperson Nicholas Dausi said that’s the beauty of democracy.
