Mutharika’s aide Norman Chisale’s bail application ruling Friday

The Court has adjourned to Friday for a ruling on a bail application by former President Peter Mutharika’s aide, Norman Chisale.

Chisale was arrested on Tuesday by the police for having hand in the dubious importation of 400, 000 bags of cement former President Professor Peter Mutharika.

This followed the summon of Prestige Import and Export owner, Mahmed Shafee Ahmed Chunara, over his involvement in the importation of 60,000 tonnes duty-free cement by former President Peter Mutharika on Saturday.

Chunara is alleged to have implicated Chisale in the cement saga hence the arrest.

He also claimed that the imports were initiated by the State House official and that all the border clearances were done by State House officials.

The law enforcers also in the past weekend arrested former Deputy Commissioner General at Malawi Reveneue Authority (MRA) Roza Mbilizi over the same matter.

Mbilizi is suspected to be the one who cleared over 400, 000 bags of cement.
