Nkhata Bay Prison Registers 11 Covid-19 Cases

Few days after Chichiri prison registered first case of Coronavirus, Nkhata Bay prison has registered 11 Covid-19 cases.

Nkhata Bay district Council Christopher Singini confirmed of the development.

According to Singini, on Tuesday the district registered 13 new Covid-19 case of which 11 of them are inmates.

At least 3 of the confirmed cases are said to be prison warders.

The correctional facility has 176 inmates against a standard capacity of 80 prisoners.

Meanwhile, the country has a total of 3149 confirmed cases with 1822 active cases, 1256 people have recovered from the disease and 71 people have succumbed to the disease.
