Former Director General of State Residences Peter Mukhito has been arrested in connection with cement worth MK5 billion of former President Peter Mutharika imported on duty free.
National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera has confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press.
But Kadadzera refused to diverge more details on the arrest.
The law enforcers also arrested former bodyguard of President Mutharika, Norman Chisale and former MRA Commissioner Roza Mbilizi over the matter.
Mutharika has since distanced himself from the cement saga.
