Govt Seeks Public Opinion On The Updated Covid-19 Rules

Government has called on the general public and other stakeholders to give feedback on the measures that are being put in place to halt the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

This follows the announcement of new rules which include a ban on larger public gatherings and as stakeholders are still reacting to the rules.

Minister of Information, Gospel Kazako, has said the new rules will still require inputs from various stakeholders for them to be effective.

Meanwhile, the Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiative (CDEDI) has called on government to ensure that people’s rights are not infringed as the measures and being enforced.

According to the association’s Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa, there is also a need for the provision of safety nets during this time.

So far, total confirmed cases have risen to 4,658 following 34 new cases.

There have also been 46 new recoveries and 3 new deaths, putting the fatality tall at 146.
