A man in Kenya has caused shock in people’s hearts after he allegedly killed his 35-year-old wife with kitchen knife and an axe before hanging himself several metres outside their house on Sunday night, August 30.
Local publication, K24 Digital has identified the man as 41-year-old Anthony Ng’ang’a and the wife as Jane Wairimu.
According to John Macharia, an uncle to the man, he was alerted by the couple’s 14-year-old daughter after she found her mother’s body lying on the bed.
He said that the girl told him that she woke up at night and found the lights on and the door open.
Macharia said that he rushed to his nephew’s house and found the woman lying dead in their bedroom but the man was missing.
“I mobilized neighbours and we went looking for him on the lower side of the compound. We found him hanging from a branch of a tree not far from the house,” the uncle said.
Police later took the bodies to hospital mortuary to await postmortem.
