Lilongwe Police Impounds 47 Motor Vehicles

Lilongwe Police Station’s traffic department has impounded 47 motor vehicles for failing to comply with traffic laws.
The exercise targeted vehicles that operate as taxis yet they are not registered as passenger vehicles.
Meanwhile, some of the owners have already paid fines for operating without a Road Service Permit, which is contrary to Section 83 of the Road Traffic Act.
The operation is still going on with the aim of bringing sanity in the city’s roads as well as preventing road accidents.
