The Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 advises the public against relaxing in practicing preventive measures against the virus.
It has been observed that a good section of the public has stopped following the preventive measures following the reduced number of cases and deaths recorded in the past couple of weeks.
For instance, minibuses are now carrying more than two passengers per seat while some shops have started allowing customers’ entry without face masks or hand washing.
In a statement, Co-chair of the taskforce John Phuka stresses the need for the public not to relent in adhering to the measures.
There are concerns that noncompliance may lead to a second wave of the virus in the country.
