A nine-year-old boy, Ian Yesaya, has died after being hit by a minibus at Matindi Trading Centre in Blantyre.
The incident occurred yesterday at around 12:30 hours.
A Toyota Hiace minibus which was being driven by John Akimu, was moving from Lunzu direction towards Lilangwe with nine passengers on board.
Upon arrival at Matindi, the vehicle hit Yesaya who was crossing the road from right to left.
Due to the impact, the boy sustained a fracture on the upper arm and a deep cut at the back.
He was rushed to Mlambe Mission Hospital where he was referred to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and died while receiving treatment.
