An event manager from Mumbai was allegedly molested and raped in the national capital. The woman, who works as a freelance event manager, alleged that she was molested and raped by two men. The incident took place at a five-star hotel in Aerocity.
The accused were identified as Sandeep Mehta alias Mickey and Naveen Dawar. Mehta was booked for rape while Dawar was arrested on charges of molestation.
The incident came to light on November 20, when the woman approached the cops and lodged a complaint. The woman met Mehta on social media a few months ago and the two became friends.
The woman started chatting with Mehta on social media. On November 18, the woman arrived in Delhi. She checked into a five-star hotel in Aerocity. On November 19, the woman met Mehta and his friend Naveen in Connaught Palace, The Indian Express reported.
The woman claimed that Naveen molested her when she was returning from Connaught Place. After they dropped Naveen, Mehta went to drop the woman at the hotel and allegedly raped her inside her room. When the woman asked Mehta for medical help, he dropped her at Anand Vihar, before fleeing from the spot.
The woman then called the police control room and was taken to a hospital. The medical examination of the woman confirmed that she had been raped. The woman’s statement was recorded by the police and both the accused men were arrested.
