Man Arrested For Possessing 35 Bags Of Suspected AIP Fertilizer

Balaka police is keeping in custody Siyabu Bamusi, 36, for being found in possession of 35 bags of suspected Affordable Inputs Programme (AIP) fertilizer without supporting documents.

According to Balaka Police Station Public Relations Officer, Felix Misomali, the suspect was nabbed on November 27 at Mwalero Village, Ulongwe Trading Centre, after being tipped by wellwishers.

He was found with 18 bags of NPK and 17 bags of UREA fertilizer.

He will appear before court to answer a charge of being found in possession of property suspected to have been stolen.

Bamusi hails from Mwalero Village, Traditional Authority Kalembo in Balaka District.
