Two female passengers have lost their during in a road accident in Dowa on Wednesday night.
The accident, which happened near Dowa Turn Off along Dowa-Dowa Turn Off road, involved a motor vehicle, Foden Truck, driven by Chawanangwa Semu, whose full particulars not known and a Mitsubishi Canter, driven by Jeremia Million, whose full particulars not known.
It is reported that the Mitsubishi Canter was being driven from the direction of Dowa Boma heading Dowa Turn Off.
Upon reaching at Dowa Turn Off, it hit a breakdown truck which was parked by Chawanangwa Semu and due to the impact, two unknown female passengers in Mitsubishi Canter who were in the front seats sustained severe head injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at Dowa District Hospital while the driver escaped with minor injuries and no damage to the truck caused but the motor vehicle registration number BT 4538 had its front part extensively damaged.
Meanwhile, the dead bodies are at Dowa District Hospital mortuary pending postmortem and identification.
