St Pius Parish closed after two Priests tested positive for COVID-19

St Pius Parish under the Archdiocese of Blantyre has been closed after two priests and a nun tested positive for COVID-19.

The two Priests have been identified as as Father George Kaliati, Father Gervanzio Namba and Sister Anna.

Blantyre Archdiocese Communications coordinator Father Frank Mwinganyama has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying all the three are in isolation.

Mwinganyama further said that the church has since been fumigated.

In the past 24 hours, the country has recorded 227 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total of confirmed cases to 1141, according to Ministry of Health report.
