Father Kazingatchire’s burial today in Dedza

The body of late Father Dr. Dominic Kazingatchire of the Diocese of Dedza will be laid to rest this afternoon at Bembeke Cemetery, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Late Kazingatchire died this morning at Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Blantyre, barely few days after testing positive for COVID-19.

Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) Secretary General Father Henry Saindi confirmed of the development in a statement made available to FOM.

“We hv lost Rev Dr Kazingatchire of the diocese of Dedza but he was working with Catholic University as Director of academic affairs.

“Late Rev Fr Dominic Kazingatchire will be laid to rest 3 pm today in bembeke Cemetery. Those attending are encouraged to take with them hand sanitizers and put on face mask. Burial will take place according to covid19 guidelines,”reads in part the statement.

Malawi is currently experiencing a new wave of COVID-19 and the pandemic has claimed over 300 people including two Cabinet Ministers.

Meanwhile President Dr. Lazarus chakwera has declared a state of disaster.
