81 People Recover From Covid-19

At least 81 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the condition in the past 24 hours, bringing the total cumulative recoveries to 6,780 so far.

During its daily status update session yesterday, the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 confirmed that the country recorded some 592 new coronavirus cases out of 1,583 tests conducted hours before the update.

Presently, 323 patients have been admitted to various facilities with Lilongwe leading the pack at 128 total admissions seconded by Blantyre’s 86 hospitalizations.

Meanwhile, 10 new deaths also occurred during the reported period, bringing total fatalities to 518 since last April.

Taskforce Co-chairperson John Phuka explained, the authorities are continuously upgrading Covid-19 testing capacity and increasing testing sites as part of combating the pandemic in the country.
