The Mangochi First Grade magistrate’s court has ordered 29 men to pay K10, 000 fine each for being found at a public place without wearing a face mask.
The court, heard through state prosecutor Regina Chikungwa that the 29 were found without masks within Maldeco and Makawa trading centres.
So far, over 300 people have been arrested for defying covid-19 guidelines which were gazzeted by the ministry of health.
Following the surge in Covid-19 cases, government introduced new measures to contain the spread of the virus.
Almost each and everyday people are being fined for breaching the Covid-19 guidelines.
