This is very sad, a 40-year old man has met his untimely death after an attempt to save a mentally unstable boy from drowning.
The sad incident happened at Aduamoa, in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region.
According to the report, the man identified as Ernest Antwi had gone to the stream nearby to wash his car when he saw the mentally unstable boy, whose identity is yet to be known struggling for his life in the 8-feet deep stream.
Ernest Antwi together with the 14-year-old boy ended up drowning after he attempted to save the young boy. The unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
Their bodies were retrieved at about 10:00 pm on that fateful day by the community members and deposited at the Atibie Government Hospital mortuary.
According to the Assembly Member for the area, Osei Bonsu, four residents have drowned in the stream since the year 2015.
