Police shoots taxi driver in Mzuzu

A taxi driver is battling for his life at Mzuzu central Hospital after being shot by the police at Dunduzu.

Mzuzu Police spokesperson inspector Paul Tembo confirmed of the development in an interview with the press on Tuesday.

According to Tembo, the driver who has been identified as George Munthali was accidentally shot when he was trying to bolt with the passengers that were on board his vehicle.

The suspect’s have since bolted with the Ivory.

Meanwhile, the driver is under arrest while admitted to Mzuzu central hospital.

George Munthali 39 comes from Chikalamba village in Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe in Rumph district.
