14 arrested for illegal entry into Malawi

Police in Mzuzu have intercepted and arrested 14 foreign nationals for illegal entry into Malawi.

The immigrants were intercepted at Samika Roadblock in Mzuzu City aboard a Tatran Tours bus registration number CP 7925.

The police have also arrested the driver of the bus and three others for aiding the illegal entry of the immigrants.

The bus used has since been impounded and will be tendered as part of evidence in court.

The service is warning everyone in the business of aiding illegal immigrants that when arrested, the vehicles they used in committing the crime will also be impounded.

The 14 arrested illegal immigrants and the other four aiders will appear in court soon to answer their charges.
