Indian nation at Salima Sugar Factor dies of COVID-19

One Indian national at the Salima Sugar Factory, who just arrived from India and was diagnosed with Covid-19, has died.

Salima Sugar Factor Secretary Dr. Charles Thupi confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).

According to Thupi, the deceased was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kamuzu Central Hospital yesterday Monday.

But Thupi said he cannot confirm if the death is due to Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the Salima district Health Office is conducting mass Covid-19 testing to all workers at the sugar factory as directed by the Minister of Health last week.
