Indian Man Attempts To Frame Doctor After He Refuses To Issue ‘Favourable’ COVID-19 Test Report

At a time when the country is battling the devastating second wave of the virus pandemic, a deplorable incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli where a man allegedly attempted to implicate a doctor in a fraudulent case after the latter refused to give a favourable coronavirus test report.

According to the police, one Rashid decided to get himself tested for coronavirus infection as he had to attend a wedding function. To take the COVID-19 test, he visited the place of his uncle Rizwan Khan, who is a doctor. Though Rashid had no symptoms of the infection, his coronavirus test report came in positive, and he was asked to home-isolate himself for 14 days.

Rashid, however, suspected that his uncle had issued him a positive COVID-19 report to intentionally trouble him.

Therefore, he planned to implicate him in a fake case. “He (Rashid) visited a police station with a video claiming that his uncle was charging heft sums from patients to issue fabricated COVID-19 test reports. The allegation was later found to be baseless and the accused was arrested,” a report published by The Times of India stated.

Subsequently, the police took Rashid into custody and booked him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Epidemic Act.
