2 NABBED IN MULANJE FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF PANGOLIN

Police in Mulanje District have on Sunday, April 9 arrested two men, for being found in possession of a Pangolin, which is a protected animal.

Police spokesperson in the district, Graciam Ngwira, has confirmed the development while identifying the two as Luka Bwanali, aged 31 years old and Daniel Juwalo, 25.

On the said day according to Ngwira, Police received a tip from a well-wisher that the two were in possession of a Pangolin at Limbuli Trading Centre, Muloza.

Working on the information, police officers and officials from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife posed as potential buyers and arrested the two suspects.

Ngwira has since said the suspects will appear in court to answer charges of being found in possession of specimens of listed species and dealing in government trophies.
