Sumbuleta’s bail ruling reserved to May 17

High Court Judge, Chifundo Kachale, has reserved his ruling to Monday, May 17, on the bail application by former Director General of Malawi Broadcasting (MBC), Aubrey Sumbuleta.

One of the lawyers representing Sumbuleta, Oscar Taulo, has told the press that the State has however objected to the bail application.

Sumbuleta is answering charges linked to his alleged sexual harassment of female employees at MBC at the time he was heading the state-owned broadcaster.

He has been in police custody for over three weeks and will have to spend another week in custody before the bail ruling is made.
