COURT DISCHARGE 15 DODMA OFFICALS IN COVID RESPONSE FUNDS PLUNDER CASE

Court has discharged 15 of the 16 Department of Disaster Management (Dodma) officials who were arrested on suspicions that they misused K4.6 million Covid-19 funds after they were found with no case to answer.
Lawyers, Gift Katundu and Paweni Nkhata, who were representing some of the discharged persons, have confirmed the development to FaceofMalawi.
However, one of the accused, Dodma Deputy Director Fyabupi Mwafongo, has not been discharged.
They were discharged today under Section 81A of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Code.
