Asylum Seekers, Refugees case adjourned to June 25

The High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned to June 25, 2021 a case involving Asylum Seekers,Refugees who are protesting a government decision tom relocate them back to Dzaleka Camp.

The disgruntled refugees and asylum seekers want the court to grant them an injunction stopping the whole exercise.

On Wednesday, High Court Judge Mandala Mambulasa heard arguments from both sides before adjourning the case.

The decision to re-locate the said refugees and asylum seekers has attracted mixed reactions among Malawians with others supporting the idea while others trashing it.

But earlier Minister of Homeland Security Richard Chimwendo Banda backed the exercise.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera also hailed the exercise.
