Few days after police in Mulanje impounded 19 motorcycles for contravening road traffic act, the law enforcers have today, June 21, 2021 impounded 36 other motorcycles.

As a continued effort to ensure compliance with road safety regulations, police in the district carried out a special operation targeting motorcycle operators.

The motorcycles have been impounded in various areas such as Chitakale Trading Centre, Nkhonya and at the BOMA.

Most of the impounded motorcycles have no certificates of registration and insurance.
