Blantyre Registers 84% Covid-19 Positive Rate

Blantyre is the hardest hit area with COVID-19, the Blantyre District Health and Social Services Office has disclosed.

According to Blantyre District Health and Social Services Officer Dr Gift Kawalazira COVID-19 currently the positivity rate for Blantyre is stands at about 84 percent.

“Treat everyone you meet as a positive case, follow preventive measures and stay safe,” said Kawalazira.

Meanwhile the DHSS has appealed to people in the district to get vaccinated as the COVID-19 positivity rate continues growing in the area.

Our spot check earlier on Monday revealed that a lot of people flocked to various vaccinating points to get their first and second Covid 19 jabs respectively.

Blantyre has about 38 vaccinating centers and it has received about 28 thousand doses from the recently received batch.
