Malawi to receive 302,400 doses of Johnson & Johnson on Friday

Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Charles Mwansambo has said the country will on Friday receive 302 400 doses of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Covid-19 vaccines.

Mwansambo said this when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament to answer questions on audit queries including updating the Committee on the state of vaccines in the country.

He explained that Malawians will only need one dose of J&J vaccine as it provides over 90% immunity from Covid-19.

Other than the J&J vaccine, Mwansambo said Malawi will receive AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccine doses in the coming days.
