A 37 year old man of Msalowa Village, in the area of Sub Traditional Authority Kabuthu, at Chizumulu Island, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to defile a 3 year old minor in Likoma district on Friday.
Dalitso Mayaka, a fisherman, was arrested on Saturday, a day after he escaped into a nearby Chingoli hill.
It is reported that mother of the victim found the suspect half naked and the victim lying undressed in his house.
Officer in charge for Likoma Police Station, Assistant Superintendent, Active Mkandawire, told the press that Mayaka has been arrested after manhunt.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
