MEC reacts to Vuwa Kaunda’s demand of Mk600 million

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has officially responded to a K600million compensation claim from Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Nkhata-bay Central Symon Vuwa Kaunda.

Kaunda wants K600million from the electoral governing body as a compensation for a trauma he claims to have suffered following the nullification of his 2019 victory.

While confirming the development, MEC Director of Communication Sangwani Mwafulirwa refused to disclose the contents of the response.

“MEC will not disclose the contents of our response to the public but him is free to disclose to you,” said Mwafulirwa.

Vuwa Kaunda is yet to comment on the matter.
