4 Boys Sitting For Standard 8 Exams at Emnthunzini Primary School

As standard 8 pupils are writing their Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLC) examinations across the country, this publication has found out that at Emnthunzini Primary School in Mzimba, only four boys are sitting for the Malawi Nation Examinations Board (MANEB) Administered examinations

According to a picture shared on social media by one user Charles Ulaya, is showing a total of fourteen students lined up waiting to be approved to get into the examination hall.

In regards to information sourced by this publication, it is said that most the boys drop out from school at a tender age and leave the country for South Africa where they engage in unskilled jobs.

One Hellen Chabunya, said it is sad that for decades the country has failed policies in Education and creating opportunities for the youths.

She further questions the total number of pupils sitting for the examinations at the school saying the number seems a bit so low.

“Aside from the fact that only 4 boys as compared to 10 girls are sitting the exam, the other question is why only 14 students? Seems a bit low,” she said.

She therefore suggested that there is a need to have a conversation as she bemoans that “We are failing this country’s future.”
