60-Year-Old Vice President Of Suriname Decided To Play Football Match For Club He Owns

Most football fans want their owners to be quite involved with their club, to basically show that they don’t just care about the money side of things.

Well, be careful what you wish for.

At the age of 60, the Vice President of Suriname, Ronnie Brunswijk, thought it would be a good idea to play a football match for the club he owns.

Brunswijk is the owner of Inter Moengotapoe (based in Moengo) and on Tuesday (21 Sep) he featured in a CONCACAF League match against Honduras side, Olimpia.

The Vice President captained the side and incredibly, managed to stay on the pitch for 54 minutes, which suggests his fitness is pretty decent.

Despite completing 14 of his 17 attempted passes, the side suffered a 6-0 thrashing.
