Mutharika mocks Chakwera’s reign

Former President Peter Mutharika has criticized the Tonse Alliance government led by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera describing it as a failed regime.

Mutharika in directly said this when answering a question from former First Lady Gertrude Mutharika regarding his favorite verse in the bible.

In the video clip which has gone viral on social media attracting mixed reactions from many Malawians , Mutharika said Daniel 5 Verse 25-28 which says ‘Mene, mene, tekel, persin’ remain his favorite verse in the bible.

“Yes, Daniel 5 Verse 25; …Here is what those words means: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end. You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting. Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians,” said Mutharika while laughing together with his wife.

Many people have interpreted the verse as an indirect attack President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s reign which is currently facing criticisms from all corners.

The video clip is selling like hot cakes on the social media.
