Woman Writes Breakup Letter To Her Foot Before Having It Amputated

This woman wrote a hilarious goodbye letter to her foot before having it amputated.

When Jo Beckwith was 13, she injured her ankle in a riding accident. For the next fourteen years, she has been through countless surgeries, procedures, injections, and “everything under the gosh-darn sun.”

Unfortunately, the unbearable pain she was experiencing every single day led her to a dramatic decision. The only two options she had were keeping her foot but living in constant pain, or having it amputated. So, “after a lot of consideration,” Jo opted for amputation, as per Unilad.

In 2018, the public speaker and mental health advocate finally had her foot removed for good. However, before parting with her limb, she threw a “goodbye party” for it.

Jo and some friends of hers wrote farewell messages on her ankle the night before her surgery.

From “way to step in the right direction” to “have a nice trip,” the goodbye notes on Jo’s foot were beyond creative and comical.

The amputee also wrote a message herself, saying:

“It’s not me, it’s you. I’m sure we’ve had some good times together, but it’s time we parted ways. I wish you all the best.”

What’s more, Jo even drew a scissor and line pattern, so the surgeon “would know which ankle to take off.”

In the public speaker’s words, it has been “incredibly therapeutic for me to have a goodbye party to my foot before I lost it.”

Today, Jo is proudly sharing valuable tips and tricks on living as an amputee on her TikTok channel, where she has amassed over 572,000 followers.

Back in 2019, in an interview with Metro, she said:
